Welcome to Imperative MX, a passion project born from our deep love for Motocross racing. I'm Zach Newberry, and I embarked on this journey fueled by the sheer excitement of writing and discussing everything about this exhilarating sport. Whether you're a fan of the gnarliest sport on earth within the AMA Supercross/Motocross/SuperMotocross Series Championships throughout the years, a local Southeast Motocross fan, an aspiring rider/racer from the local scene, or a professional, you've found your home here.

With over two decades of experience in Motocross, including competing in the Amsoil Arenacross series and training alongside the legendary Jim Neese, I bring a wealth of knowledge. My professional journey began when I earned my pro card from the Arenacross series in 2013, making valiant attempts at prestigious events like Muddy Creek, Budds Creek, and High Point. While I came close in the muddy trenches of High Point, I fell just six positions short of the elusive top 40. Unfortunately, injuries forced me to step back, undergoing three surgeries and striving to make a comeback from 2014 to 2016 without surpassing my 2013 achievements. While on the sidelines, I delved into training and coaching, even assisting with a program hosted by the renowned Mike Brown.

So, why did I create Imperative Mx? The answer is simple: an unwavering love for Motocross racing and everything it revolves around. This sport has defined my life since I first hopped on a dirt bike at 7. Whether it's the tight-knit Motocross family, the fierce competition, the captivating stories within the sport, or the sheer joy of riding, I've embraced it all. Engaging with riders, company representatives, mechanics, parents of those racers, and industry insiders has given me a unique perspective on the sport and its rich history. I wanted a way to share these stories with those who don't get enough spotlight. From the local Southeast Motocross scene to the professional side.
